Wire-O bound magazine printing

A Wire-O magazine is punched along the binding edge and assembled with a metal loop. Pages turn freely, the publication opens completely flat and individual spreads remain easy to view during work, study or a presentation.

This binding is useful for technical catalogues, portfolios, price lists, menus, training manuals, corporate reference books and publications that are handled every day. Cover and inner paper can be selected independently, and protective lamination is available for the cover.

Preparing the magazine

Allow a wider safe margin on the binding side so holes do not interfere with text, page numbers or graphics. Submit single pages in reading order and indicate the required binding edge. Include bleed for edge-to-edge backgrounds. We will check the format, page sequence and punching allowance before production.

Artwork submission rules
  • The file dimensions must match the artwork size including bleed. Follow the dimensions shown in the recommendations above.
  • Formats: PDF, JPG, JPEG, TIF, TIFF. Maximum file size: 400 MB.
  • Use 300 DPI for print, 200 DPI for large-format work and 150 DPI for very large products.
  • Use RGB if unsure. Use CMYK only if you understand prepress requirements. Remove embedded ICC profiles.
  • Embed all fonts in PDF files. Save JPEG without compression and TIFF with merged layers using ZIP/LZW.
  • For foil, varnish, contour cutting and other special processes, use vector spot objects with overprint.

      General guidelines+
      • Use the CMYK colour model only when the artwork was prepared with the correct print profile; otherwise submit the file in RGB.
      • Embed all fonts in PDF files or convert text to outlines.
      • Keep important text and logos inside the indicated safe area.
      • Do not place thin frames close to the trim line.
      • The maximum upload size is 400 MB.
